Excavation!

Rain doesn’t stop play apparently! Not when you’re sat in a nice cosy dry cab, with caterpillar tracks to move you about. And after the long hot summer, the rain helping soften the ground a little.

We’re so thankful for James for giving his time and the use of the excavator to give us a great head start to set up the Cornerstone Patch. James went the extra mile ensuring the swimming pool surface was a flat as possible. He also cleared the far end, giving us more growing space potential. James has also offered to come back with his own mini excavator to clear the near end. Clearing the footbath would enable us to set that up as a herb garden, with a flower garden at the far end. Thanks James!

We’ve just submitted an application to Nature Heals Seed Funding through Dorset Community Foundation, and we’re working on another application that if successful would fund the capital costs to set up the raised beds. We’ll keep you posted.

James excavating the pool, levelling it for us to install raised beds on top. He kindly offered to clear the end area by the fence too. Giving us more growing room
