We believe that society functions better and people are happier when individuals are connected to communities and devote time to maintaining their strength. Strong communities are founded upon respect and tolerance. Citizens should be encouraged to innovate and explore where these behaviours could bring benefits to the community, but they should also respect the sensitivities of people whose focus is on stabilising or increasing the security of the community. Each person has a natural role to play in community life and we aim to help people find where they fit in.

The Power House will be built on reclaimed land at sea level and will be located very close to areas of Poole Harbour that are protected for the benefit of wading birds. For these reasons, and because it is the right thing to do, we will promote environmental responsibility and sustainable practices.

We are committed to make The Power House as sustainable as possible because:

Poole’s Regeneration Area, where The Power House building will ideally be located, is vulnerable to coastal flooding and the land needs to be raised by over a metre to meet current flood protection regulations. We therefore have a very real interest in promoting behaviours that may limit or reverse climate change.

The Regeneration Area is adjacent to Holes Bay, a protected natural environment and wading bird habitat, but one which has historically been harmed by the release of toxic chemicals.
