2nd Year Funding for our Project Manager Secured

A very big thank you to The National Lottery Fund for their extremely quick turnaround of our application for our Project Manager’s salary to continue our Community Project Development work. Thanks to the Government Furlough Scheme The Power House had been able to extend Alix’s contract for a few months, but it was getting close to the bone. So we all breath a huge sigh of relief, and can jolly well get on with all the exciting community projects that are now taking off!

Our Arts Wellbeing Sessions have been postponed while our talented Community Artist reworks her course to make it accessible on Zoom. These sessions will be starting mid February for Carers and those struggling with anxiety, stress, and low mood that are already signed up. We’re also inviting in some staff from a local hospital to support them as they battle with stress and burnout.

The COIN Project is off to a fine start, and it is such a joy to be working with our CoFounder Maureen La Frenais again. And the wonder CoCreate are full steam ahead with the community arts programme. We are thankful for their digital platform that is making this possible, and so quickly! 4 sessions to gather stories about Hamworthy, dates and sign up on our Home Page.

We have some Good News about our Youth Project which we will share in a separate post, and we have another exciting development that is brewing … So excited about that, and can’t wait to share it, once we know it can definitely go ahead …

It feels so good, that while we are on lockdown in the depths of Winter, that not only are we seeing Spring shoots bursting through in our beautiful natural surroundings, but after nearly four years of listening to our community, we have shoots of our Spring growth in our community programme.

Looking forward to sharing the journey with you.

Stay well, look after yourself, and find the beauty and joy in the simple things … It goes a long way to help a this really difficult time.
