platinum jubilee pop-ups
The Queen had many links to Poole - she visited the then named Poole Arts Centre in 1979, after it opened in 1978 and during her visit she received a specially commissioned piece of Poole Pottery. An exact replica was made and is now looked after by Poole Museum. Due to all of these lovely connections, The Power House Team was keen to take Poole Britannia! to the streets of Poole and during June 2022 we hosted a number of pop-up events in The Dolphin Centre in Poole, which included a mass’d sing with Ali Sharpe and the Canford Community Choir and an number of community Platinum Jubilee art events for young and old to participate in. The photos below show a selection of the activities that were offered, from Creative Clay for All offering clay workshops to making a Queen to Platinum Jubilee biscuit decorating.
