Poole Britannia! Platinum jubilee celebration day
To celebrate Her Majesty and open our Jubilee Exhibition, we held a Jubilee Celebration Event hosted by Lighthouse, Poole – originally opened by the Queen in 1979 who received a specially commissioned piece of Poole Pottery in commemoration. We are very grateful to The Lighthouse Poole for hosting our Poole Britannia! Exhibition and Celebration Day.
Following our successful first exhibition and programme of community arts activities in the Summer of 2021, The Power House were delighted to produce this once in a life-time opportunity for Poole, the wider community, and visitors to come together, create, and celebrate Her Majesty’s glorious 70-year reign. Poole Britannia!
We offered a range of activities and opportunities on the day which included viewing the:
Jubilee Mosaic Murals by David Bowers and Hamworthy Park Junior and Twin Sails Infants Schools
Mosaic Portrait of the Queen by Amanda Waite and GCSE Art Students in collaboration with Claire Austin and Maureen La Frenais

We also offered a day of creative arts and interactive activities for the whole community and visitors to our town, young and old to join in. Activities included:
